This new business will be concerned with providing businesses in the construction industry a service of “mobile scaffolding repairs” and a “scaffolding plank strength testing service” This new business will be set up as a sole trader business managed by the applicant Paul McCann and his wife Roseleen.
Mr Paul McCann established Archview Scaffolding in 1997 with one vehicle and two employees. Mr McCann has grew this company over this past 14 years to its current turnover of £594,735 (Dec 2010) with Archview Scaffolding becoming the market leader in South Down and one of the main scaffolding contractors in Northern Ireland.
The applicant sought funding from SOAR to assist with the purchase of the necessary equipment required to establish this new business. The business will recruit the staff required to undertake the scaffolding repairs and plank testing service. The project commenced with the following objectives:
4 full time employment position will be created within 5 years. Total volume of investment will be £57,804. 1 rural business will be gain the necessary assistance to expand and develop. Income generation in a rural area will be stimulated, Project will contribute towards the achievement of 2% economic growth.
