To further develop a social enterprise offering support to business through a multi-lingual translation service, specialising in the translation of English into Irish and vice versa.
An Carn Translations is within a portfolio of social enterprises operated by the Carntogher Community Association (CCA), which was established in 1992 to address the economic and social decline of the area and promote a range of projects and community enterprises from the An Carn Centre (Maghera). These projects are broad based, ranging from community environmental projects, culture and language promotion, mixed tenure housing scheme, business start-ups, a local shop, Post Office and a computer training centre. CCA is a company limited by guarantee with charitable status. It is committed to raising the profile of the Irish language and to develop the Cultural Economy locally. A range of cultural and language based enterprises is emerging within the An Carn Enterprise Centre.
