PROJECT SUMMARY

Glenavy Conservation and District Angling Club received funding from Lagan Rural Partnership to create pathways and enhance the local surrounding area, improve access and provide enhanced angling facilities.

BACKGROUND

Glenavy Conservation and District Angling Club was founded in 2008 by a group of local residents who were concerned about the increasing pollution of the Glenavy River and its wildlife habitat and decided that action was required to restore, conserve and develop the River for the benefit and the enjoyment of anglers.

BENEFITS

A number of social, physical, economic and health benefits has been achieved for both residents and visitors to Glenavy.
