PROJECT SUMMARY

Play has become a major subject for research focussing on the benefits of play for children. Play is crucial to children's health and development, therefore Lisburn City Council received funding to develop a children's play area.

BACKGROUND

Anahilt is located on an important commuter corridor that links Ballynahinch through to Hillsborough and Lisburn. It is a well established and thriving community with a mix of social and private housing. Anahilt Primary School has a steady enrolment which reflects a steady population. However, the village did not have a public play area.
