The results of a feasbility study will inform the installation of a renewable energy project at the site.
To appoint a consultant to undertake a feasibility study to assess the viability of a second hydro electric project on a proposed site at Dromore.
The applicant owns a small holding, which is currently leased, near Ballyward where the Leitrim River flows. On the proposed site there was an old disused mill which has since been renovated into farm storage. The dam and old mill building are located on the river at the point where the head is the greatest and therefore the applicant feels this is where the best results can be obtained. With the old mill building originally located on this specific site, this adds reason to further investigate the viability of a hydro project.
