Purchase of equipment to increase efficiencies at Scotts Powerhouse
Scotts Powerhouse, on the Oldwood Road, Randalstown, specialises in the conversion and modification of commercial vehicles and lorries. Project promoter, Jason Scott set up the business as a part-time venture 2 years ago and applied to GROW South Antrim for funding to develop his own business into a full-time enterprise to complement the existing family business.
Funded under Axis 3 through GROW South Antrim, Jason purchased new equipment to meet the demand for conversion work, including an HGV beam setter and welders. He noticed that an increasing number of customers wanted their vehicle modified to their own specifications, whether it is converting lorries to horse or cattle boxes, narrowing trailers or customising standard lorries to beavertails. With the new equipment this increasing customer demand can be catered for and completed to a high standard.
The majority of the work involves cutting and welding, so the new equipment enables the business to carry out work professionally and efficiently.
