Development of an IT facility by providing capital support, allowing the Family Centres services to expand.
The custom built Ballyhornan Family Centre already provided a wide-range of activities and services to the local community, including workshops, sports facilities and community meeting spaces. However, the IT suite was under-resourced, temporarily housed in the committee room and dependent on equipment on loan. With a high need for IT accessibility and education in the area, it was decided to refurbish a neighbouring unit to act as an IT suite and acquire more equipment for the centre.
Funding from DRAP allowed the applicant to renovate a unit to create, furnish and equip a fully functioning IT centre.
