PROJECT SUMMARY

Siteworks, building work and purchase of equipment to extend an existing bar and lounge for the purpose of offering restaurant facilities at a well established public house.

BACKGROUND

Sheils Pub is situated along the Callen River in the heart of the village of Tasssagh, Co. Armagh.  It has been an integral part of the social life of Tassagh from 1870, being a central meeting place of family and friends in the surrounding areas.

ACTIVITIES

Funded under Axis 3, through SOAR.  Items funded included

• Site preparation, site works, installation of capital infrastructure;
• mechanical and electrical work;
• fit out of kitchen to include kitchen fabrication work tops and sinks, fridge, washing machine, tumble drier, extractor units including ducting, dual oven, salmander grills, 10 grill steamer, water boiler, dishwasher and microwave.

BENEFITS

The project has increased the service available to the public and has offered employment opportunities through the creation of 2 full time and 10 part time casual posts.
