Burren Community Association was awarded grant aid to undertake an extension to St. Marys Hall, Burren.
Burren Community Association applied to SOAR for part funding toward the upgrade and renovation of St Mary’s Hall, Burren. Burren Community Association was formally formed 1992 but has been in operation since 1985. It currently has a committee of 24 local people of which 10 make up the office bearers. At time of application, Burren Community Association felt they are unable to facilitate the needs of the community. Due to the number groups using the building at peak times, they felt they did not have room available for new groups wishing to avail of room space.

To create income of £22,425.15 in year 2 by increasing usage rates and improve existing facilities to accommodate existing and new users groups.
The hall which was originally built in 1912, is today looking attractive, vibrant, and modern in the heart of the County Down Village following major refurbishment works to install a new lift, create a new storeroom and build a new reception and foyer area.
