Purchase and installation of equipment to expand existing vehicles repairs business.
D Whyte & Sons worked from a purpose built facility for commercial vehicle repairs and bodywork which primarily concentrated on car repairs. The promoter decided to increase provision of repair of light commercial vehicles such as small commercial vans and transit vans.
Funded under Axis 3, through ARC North West, the promoter installed a spray painting booth and oven large enough to hold ligh commercial vehicles. The vehicles can be sprayed, dried and bodywork stretched / restored on site by the promoter. The new facilities allows the business to undertake the work in a controlled environment and allow for volume work to be undertaken when required. If the business had continued as it was then it would take longer to complete work on larger vehicles and they would not have been able to work with commercial vehicles.
