In order to investigate the options of diversification open to the applicant they commissioned a detailed feasibility study which will gather information relating to costs, income and economic viability.
The promoter has a farm approximately 30 acres in size and is mainly involved with the production of cattle for beef. Due to the decline in farming income, the promoter has investigated opportunities for diversification and hopes to diversify into wind energy production to supplement the family income for farming.
The applicant secured funding to commission an independent feasibility study, NIE grid connection and a wind speed measurement study for 6 months.
