Installation of 3 phase electricity and purchase of equipment for manufacturing business.
Mr Stewart is a welder based on his family farm manufacturing agricultural sheds and feeding equipment for the local farming community and he wanted to improve the H&S of his business through the introduction of 3 phase electricity and the purchase of new pieces of equipment. Before his grant assistance, David had to power a generator from a tractor causing noise and pollution.
Funded under Axis 3, through North East Region, David installed 3 phase power to operate his machines and develop the business. He also purchased a 3 phase welder, bandsaw, and belt sander. These shall allow him to increase his employment and take on more work and larger jobs. The applicant also intends to construct a purpose built workshop in two years, but needs the equipment as a priority.
