Craigantlet Livery Yard is a farm diversification project in Craigantlet Hills to develop a new rural business from existing farm land. It provides a complete Livery Service (British Horse Society (BHS) standard. The project includes a sand school and horse walking paths catering for up to 25 horses.
Dick Blakiston Houston has a farming background and manages his farmed land of over 400 dairy cows, 30 hectares of crops and silage. Dick has over 50 years experience in working with horses and continues to have a keen interest. He currently owns 6 horses and up to 8 stables and is active in the management and day to day care of the horses.
Funding used for capital works entailing renovation of outbuildings to stables, installation of a horse walker and ménage, off road trails, access and parking associated promotional material and marketing activities for the new business was carried out including website design and development and signage erected.
