The aim of this project was appoint a specialist consultant to undertake a study to identify the renewable energy technologies opportunities and restrictions in Lecale.
Down District Farmers for Renewable Energy (DDFFRE), are a community development organisation representing a large number of local parties involved with development and ownership of small wind turbines, AD plant and solar power stations. They hired a specialist consultant to identify the renewable energy technologies, project locations which have planning approval, installed capacities (i.e. their potential MW of output), proposed commissioning dates and grid connection quotations in Lecale.
Funding from DRAP enabled the DDFFRE to commission a feasibility study identifying the amount of renewable energy that can be produced by the local community in Lecale.
