The purchase of equipment to aid in the development of a marquee hire business.
The applicant came up with the concept of The Marquee Company in October 2007, after she discovered a shortfall in the market for hiring full package marquees in the Newry area, during the planning of her own wedding.
The business involves the delivery, erection and dismantling of a variety of marquees types including: party, traditional and framed marquees. Additional products can be included as part of the package, for a charge flooring, furniture, heating, lighting.
Project Objectives:
The business caters for various target markets including weddings, pre-wedding parties, birthdays, christenings, corporate, sporting and charity events.
This grant aid would be used to capitalise on the growing trend to hold smaller parties and functions, and area which the applicant believes she is loosing out on. The applicant has stated that at present her marquees are for larger functions and as such is loosing out on jobs to tender for smaller events.
