The company's primary objective is to restock the Erne catchment with native Erne trout, which will ultimately bring economic benefit to Co. Fermanagh. Through this project the promoter purchased a geographical information system (GIS). This will be used as a fisheries management tool to support the extensive Lough Erne catchment fish restocking programme, presently undertaken by them at the Marble Arch Fish Hatchery.
Erne & Melvin Enhancement Co Ltd was established in 1996 by Killesher Community Development Association and local anglers as a mechanism for undertaking a comprehensive angling enhancement scheme within the Lough Erne and Melvin catchments.
