To erect a secondhand reconditioned 100kW wind turbine at the proposed site in order to improve the profitability and sustainability of the farm business
The applicant, James Small, owned a large dairy farm in Banbridge. Eager to establish an additional revenue stream for the farm, he located a site on his land that would be ideal for the erection of a 100kW turbine due to the degree of turbulence and exposure. Estimates suggested that the turbine could generate an income of £28,000 and would also reduce the carbon footprint of the farm.
DRAP funding enabled James Small to purchase and erect a 100kW wind turbine on his farm.
