The purchase of specialised tooling & workshop equipment and marketing materials & website to establish vintage machinery restoration business.
Eugene Kearney has been the owner of a small farm for thirty years and always had a passion for vintage machinery and its repair and restoration. After Eugene retired he started restoring vintage tractors to generate an income. Eugene was the main restorer on a recent DVD release and has been approached to undertake further restorations to make a series. Eugene is continually getting requests from vintage enthusiasts to undertake restorations of their machines as they do not have the skills and expertise, necessary.
In order for Eugene to develop what started out as a hobby into a full time business and potentially create employment for others, he applied to Axis 3 through North East Region for grant assistance to purchase specialist tooling and workshop equipment which would only be suitable for use on vintage equipment. Eugene also wanted to purchase marketing materials to promote his business as he travels around Ireland to many of the vintage rallies and events, which take place over the summer months.
