Installation of a spa garden, marketing costs and purchase of a heat source pump to increase capacity and reduce costs at Lavendar Health Spa.

BACKGROUND

Lavender Health Spa is a partnership between Sean O’Neill and Helene O’Neill (the latter is a qualified beauty therapist who has run a beauty treatment business in Ballygawley since 2006).  Their domestic garage (approximately 2000 sq. Ft.) has been converted into a Health Spa and operates adjacent to their family home in a rural area approximately 5 miles from Ballygawley, Co. Tyrone. Treatments offered at Lavendar Health Spa include a range of beauty, sports massage, holistic treatments, hydrotherapy pool, etc. Due to limited capacity the applicants had to turn away business from larger groups wishing to utilise the facilities.

ACTIVITIES

Funded under Axis 3, through SWARD, the project involved the following: 

• Marketing Campaign to promote the spa business
• Installation of a spa garden  with garden house and  outdoor hot tub
• Purchase and installation of a heat source pump to increase energy efficiency

• Marketing – Design and Printing of Promotional Materials and Website Development
• Marketing – Advertising in Newspapers for SPA

BENEFITS

This new outdoor area enables the business to accommodate larger numbers and alternate between the treatments available. The project created 2 full time jobs.
