Purchase of paint spray system for engineering business.
Eugene Dixon and his father own a farm in Dunloy where Eugene has developed a large engineering business which now employs fourteen people. The business undertakes powder coating of metal products for companies such as Wrightbus, FG Wilson, Hutchinson Engineering, NK Fencing and smaller engineering firms. The applicant has previously been awarded £60,000 from NAL+ for the development of his production line and installation of a new powder coating spray booth.
Funded under Axis 3, through North East Region, Eugene installed a new paint spray system which will enable him to diversify into wet paint spraying and therefore access new markets and target new customers. He purchased a bake oven, paint spray booth, spray guns, drier and compressor. In addition to the vast range of car parts and slurry tankers Eugene expects to be able to spray, many farmers will avail of this service to get older agricultural machinery and equipment shot blasted and resprayed with a resultant increase in the life span of the equipment.
