Purchase of equipment to increase efficiency and production at a local engineering works.
McLaughlin Engineering manufactures Tipping Skips, Trailer Skips and Scoops for forklifts for the construction industry and recycling companies, aswell as manufacturing steel sheds, gates and railings as additional work.
Funded under Axis 3, through SWARD, the project enabled the promoter to purchase a guillotine and Brake Press. Prior to the project, the business had 1 guillotine in place but was inadequate to meet demand.
The new machinery can cut the steel and fold it and is based at the business premises, thus increasing production and reducing downtime. The project created 1 part time job.
