The aim of this project was to create awareness of the maritime heritage of Portaferry through a series of free monthly maritime related events.
The Portaferry and Strangford Trust is a building preservation trust with the aim of regenerating buildings at risk, and providing a maritime centre which will preserve the rich maritime past, present and future of the Portaferry and Strangford area. In advance of finishing the centre, they wanted to hold a series of maritime related events to raise awareness of the maritime past both locally and in the world of tourism.
DRAP funding for the purchase of technical equipment, advertising for seven events, hiring speakers for talks, boat tour guides, and venue hire.
