Purchase of equipment to enable expansion of firewood and fuel business.
Mr Thomas Gordon had an existing firewood and fuel business which had been operating on his farm for several years. He wanted to move into this business on a full time basis and had identified the principal demand as being in the fire lighting sector.
In order to be able to be able to meet the demands identified, Tom sought funded through Axis 3 under North East Region for assistance with the purchase of a pallet-dismantling machine which will enable him to at least double his production levels. As this machine is operated via three phase electricity, Tom also purchased a three phases converter.
