PROJECT SUMMARY

The aim of this project was to paint the exteriors of two derelict/vacant buildings on Main Street, Dundrum.

BACKGROUND

Dundrum Village Association sought funding to improve the overall look of the village, with the aim of making it more attractive to locals and to tourists. This would give the villagers a sense of pride in their community, and encourage tourists to stop off on their way to the Mourne Mountains. In order to do this, the DVA planned to paint the exteriors of two derelict/vacant buildings on Main Street, Dundrum. The project also included the addition painted art work on buildings, with the aim of enhancing the physical and environmental appearance of Dundrum.

ACTIVITIES

Funding from DRAP enabled the Dundrum Village Association to paint the exterior walls and window surrounds of two derelict/vacant buildings on Main Street, Dundrum, including mock window panels and hanging baskets.
