This project, Duncansland Stables and Racing Yard, involves the construction and development of modern, all-weather training and exercise facilities in which to develop young race horses and point-to-point horses- from a combination of both, young stock purchased at sales by the applicant, and horses which belong to others who do not have the facilities, knowledge, or experience to train and develop the horses for themselves.

The promoters, Graham and Lyle Andrew have a lifelong interest and a wealth of knowledge and experience in the equine sector- specifically in horse racing.

The new business is a partnership business between father and son, managed primarily by Lyle Andrew (son) as business operator, and is based on the applicant’s land on the Old Ballybracken Road, Doagh- a rural part of Newtownabbey Borough Council.
