To install a 6kW wind turbine with a view to generating a further income stream for the farm business.
In addition to a project run by her husband to install a hydro-electric generator at Marybrook Farm, Maureen Convery approached DRAP with a proposal to install a wind turbine. The aim of the project was to utilise the wind power at Marybrook to generate electricity. This could then be sold to the grid. Once established, the wind turbine installation contributed to underpinning the future viablity of Marybrook Farm and Mill.
DRAP funding enabled Maureen Convery to buy and install a 6kW wind turbine at Marybrook Farm. The electricity generated is then sold back to the National Grid.
