The aim of this project was to renovate and refurbish 5 – 7 Main Street, Millisle to use as a youth facility for the local community.
The Millisle Youth Forum was founded in 2009 to work with marginalised young people in the village. Consultation with their groups revealed the need for a facility that the young people could use to socialise in the evening and at weekends. The group then approached DRAP with a proposal to renovate and refurbish a disused former petrol station/garage situated within the village, into a facility that can be used by the youth forum enabling them to open more regularly.
Funding from DRAP enabled the renovation of premises located at 5-7 Main Street Millisle - including demolition & alterations, mechanical installations, electrical, ventilation, fire-fighting equipment, and roofing - to provide a youth facility
